Beginning to talk about costumes.

February 9, 2016 By Jeremiah Ginsberg

We are beginning to talk costumes with Tracy Christensen, our brilliant Broadway costume designer! I am excited because Tracy always comes up with “out of the box” costume design ideas. Take a look at some of her colorful designs
@ http://www.tracychristensen.com

I am never content to stay with the lavenders, browns and dull colors even though they may be safe Biblical accuracy. My druthers are new and unique, sometimes borderline outrageous pastiches (but always in good taste) which will capture the radiance and brilliance of the Gospel story so that it may implode its loving uniqueness and warmth into the yearning hearts and souls of our audience. The drab and traditional colors do not excite me at all although they may be traditionally accurate. Come and see “Rabboni The Musical and you will know what I am talking about. Brilliant colors enhance the theatricality and Tracy knows how to capture and titilate the imagination.

Thank you, Tracy, for creating a plethora, a sea of brilliant designs and colors to excite my imagination and that of our discerning audience. You are the best and Wendy and I love you and your magnificent work!

Wendy Booked Our Flights and Hotel in Memphis

January 23, 2016 By Jeremiah Ginsberg

Dear friends, Like everything else, doing the work of God takes time, especially with a great musical like “Rabboni!” Everything must be done in order; “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little.” (Isa.28:10) Excellence is the order of the day, and we have a constant goal of making that our most important objective!

Now Steveroni, Wendy’s and my good friend and my Assistant Director, (Stephen Len White, a great “Phantom Of The Opera” International Tour actor and singer, who was also in our original off-Broadway “Rabboni” cast and has performed in our productions off and on for many years now; oy! We all get older, don’t we!) has advised me that he finally got a call back from the wonderful Memphis choreographer who he was trying to reach. She was out of town and only just got his phone message; and, now they are playing phone tag.

Of course, we have worked with many great choreographers over the years but it is important that we have a member of our team who is a top professional and is well known in the area where we are producing our award-winning musical so that we will be able to reach the best dancers in that locale for staggeringly excellent performances. Of course, a few of those dancers may go all the way up to Broadway with us and that is an exciting possibility for those who join our company in Memphis. But “excellence” is, as I have said, always the most important consideration when you want to glorify a great God! There is no room for second rate. So we must choose the very best professionals on every level, actors, singers and dancers for our theatrical company.

So, Wendy and I are excited because the spokes of the wheel are starting to be put into place, and soon we will be rolling along our way to Broadway, Memphis first stop, where on February 20th to the 23rd we will be conducting auditions for actors, singers and dancers. Wendy and I and Steve will also be singing a few songs from “Rabboni” at both services of the Colonial Baptist Church where the performances (Livestreamed for you armchair critics at home) will be staged on April 15th, 16th and 17th. Please pray for us that we will find and put together an outstanding cast who will all be of an excellent spirit as well.

Remember to keep checking out our latest postings, and don’t forget to sign up on our email list so that we can update you with all the latest tidbits and offers! So long for now, dear friends! Jeremiah signing off.
