The Joseph Story Repeats Itself in America!

March 31, 2016 By Jeremiah Ginsberg

And Joseph said to his brothers… “I am Joseph your brother, whom you sold into Egypt. But now, do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life.” (Genesis 45:4-5)

A little history: In 1985, The 700 Club broadcast to their television audiences that “Rabboni” was opening at The Minskoff Theatre on Broadway on December 21st. Well, it didn’t, and it isn’t exactly a photo finish because it took until 2016, 31years later, to finish what Wendy and I started back then. But now we are renaming it “Mendel’s Messiah” to weave his life’s struggle between good and evil into this amazing award-winning Messianic Gospel story that Gary Selman one of the Two Nice Jewish Boys radio show on WMCA called “Better than Fiddler On The Roof!”

Seemingly tragically, we had to suspend our rehearsals at the Michael Bennett Studios just about three weeks before the show’s scheduled opening at The Minskoff Theatre on Broadway. Many members of our cast wept as we gave them the sad news. So many of them were proud to be a part of this history-making Messianic Gospel musical which the critics had greatly acclaimed at The Perry Street Theatre off-Broadway in 1985. To many of those actors, dancers and singers it was so much more than a job, it was a pedestal on the most important stage in the world for the truth to be proclaimed.

And instead of making history, I, whom God had lifted into heaven in the Spirit in 1972 and said, “You will build for me a new House of Worship,” just like Joseph, failed due to an investor who had made a written commitment and then could not fulfill it. He handed Wendy and me a mere 10% of his promised investment and left us holding the proverbial bag, and boy, did we have debts to pay off.

But by the amazing grace of God, here we are 31 years later carrying the ball down the field toward the goalposts praying for an overwhelming victory for the Kingdom of God in an America which is way more lawless than the one then in existence in 1985. Actually, what we are doing in New York City will no doubt stir up the wrath of the enemy who does not want his much strengthened strongholds since 1985 overturned, and so he spews out his venom against us and our family as we struggle to break out with God’s truth in the theatre capital of the world. And, like Joseph’s brothers, many of God’s people are rooting for us to bring the Good News to America at such a crucial time; but almost no one is supporting us where we as risk-takers stand almost single-handed in the battle. You see, it is kind of like the story of Joseph: Imprisoned for the failure of the God-given revelation, who ultimately became 2nd in command to Pharaoh, prevailed and rescued his Hebrew brethren from extinction!

We trust in God’s word and His wisdom. We believe that we who have been placed at the last, will now be at the first, and like Joseph, will prevail for the good of our brethren.

Wendy and I, with our General Management, are planning a stage reading in New York City probably early this summer with Broadway actors, singers and dancers for Broadway theatre owners and people who are interested in becoming donors or investors in this outstanding Broadway production. There is no charge, but you will have to make your request for an invitation to this extraordinary theatre event by responding to our ministry below listed.

Are you with us? It will ONLY cost just under $10 Million dollars to raise up God’s banner on the Broadway stage, then in Israel and around the world. It becomes more and more obvious with each passing day that a modern-day Joseph must emerge from the shadows into the dangerous forefront at a time when it is an increasing liability to be a Jew or a Bible-believing Christian. You may be asking yourself, “Who will fight for me against the huge wave of anti-God hatred rapidly proliferating?” Well, I can tell you that God sent us from the time I sat on His lap in the Spirit in heaven in 1972. But He did keep it a secret that it would be a dangerous undertaking when it would finally happen in New York City on Broadway! So, please sign up on our email list to partner in this great work, to get your invitation to our stage reading and to receive email updates. Rabboni Starts It’s Trek Up To Broadway!

January 10, 2016 By Jeremiah Ginsberg

My beautiful wife and partner, Wendy, is finally getting her strength back. It has been a horrible trial for us; I feared I might lose her, but thank God she was miraculously healed!

And, I am happy to tell you that we are starting up our Broadway-bound “Rabboni” again with concert version performances, including choreography and some costumes, at the Colonial Baptist Church in Memphis. Here is a link to the church where we will be performing the week before Passover on April 15th, 16th and 17th. (Click Here)

Ken Davenport, the prominent Broadway producer whose Davenport Theatricals is General managing “Rabboni,” will be assisting us in Livestreaming one of our performances nationally from Memphis. Ken Livestreamed one of their shows, “Daddy Long Legs” last month? (Read Here)

Stephen Len White is presently the music minister at the church; he is singing in the video. Steve was in our original off-B’way production and has toured extensively in the International company of “Phantom of the Opera” and will be playing the role of Yeshua in the Memphis production. Chris Regan who among other things performed in the National Touring Company of “Evita” will be performing in the role of Beelzebub.

Ken Davenport, the prominent Broadway producer whose office the Broadway General Manager for “Rabboni”, will be assisting us in Livestreaming one of our performances nationally from Memphis. They Livestreamed one of their shows, “Daddy Long Legs” last month? (Read Here) Broadway costume designerTracy Christiansen will be designing our costumes.

You will be able to see this extraordinary Messianic Gospel production from your armchair in front of your computer.

A First Step To Broadway

January 10, 2016 By Jeremiah Ginsberg

Our first step along the pathway to Broadway has become clear to us and we have seized the opportunity! Gangway, “Rabboni” is coming through with a little help from God! You might call Wendy and me “well seasoned warriors” having fought the battle with many of our Bible-based  productions over the years… not to Broadway, but off-Broadway. At first it was scary but when we won awards and got great reviews, we became a little more comfortable with the process. And now, we are raring to go!

So for starters, we will be producing a concert version of our award-winning musical, “Rabboni,” at the Colonial Baptist Church in Memphis where we will be Livestreaming our production for you armchair warriors who want to enjoy God’s latest and greatest from your little comfortable corner of the world.

Yup! We will be celebrating with pre-Passover performances on April 15th, 16, and 17th with a smash-hit team of performers, all hand chosen by Wendy and me, some over the years, but guaranteed to thrill even the most hard-nosed “audience-grounded critics” among you.

So, off to Memphis in the next few weeks to audition actors, singers and dancers to fill the empty slots with stunning thespians to bring this sometimes zany, dramatic, pizzazz-filled great Jewish flavored Gospel musical which vividly portrays the age-old battle of good versus evil to life, to life l’chaim!

So get ready for this life-changing once in a lifetime theatrical experience that even the Antoinette Tony Awards are zealously (but guardedly) anticipating!

Keep tuned in for updates!

Jeremiah
